Embraer Celebrates 25 Years of its Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering Program
March 18, 2026
Professional Master’s degree in partnership with ITA is one of Brazil’s longest-running corporate models for intellectual and technological development
São José dos Campos, Brazil - March 18, 2026 – This March, Embraer celebrates the 25th anniversary of its Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering, which has become one of the main gateways for engineers seeking to work at the company. The professional Master’s degree is offered in partnership with the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA) in Brazil.
Over this period, 1,800 newly graduated professionals from various engineering disciplines have completed the accelerated learning initiative designed for careers in aeronautical technologies. Another 90 participants are currently enrolled in the program, in line with Embraer’s objective of ensuring a greater availability of highly qualified professionals aligned with the company’s growth strategies.
“Over these 25 years, Embraer's Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering has continually evolved to adapt the specialization of professionals to the company’s needs and challenges. In addition, it offers a unique career opportunity through the development of technical and personal skills, collaboration, and building the future of sustainable aviation,” said Andreza Alberto, Embraer’s Vice President of People, ESG, and Corporate Communications.
“Embraer's Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering has allowed us to attract and develop exceptional talent that, over the past 25 years, has greatly contributed to the creation of hugely successful products such as the E-Jets and KC-390, and the Phenom and Praetor jets,” said Luís Carlos Affonso, Embraer’s Vice President of Engineering and Technology Development. “In particular, we appreciate the partnership with ITA, an institution that promotes teaching, research, and outreach, focusing on scientific and technological development to meet the needs of the Brazilian aerospace sector.”
Embraer’s technical and technological capabilities are continually strengthened through partnerships with research institutions and initiatives focused on the training and development of new talent. Embraer's Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering classes are taught by ITA professors, experienced Embraer professionals, and contracted consultants, totaling 3,000 hours of theoretical and applied training under a full-time dedication regime.
On average, Embraer receives 5,000 applications per year for the selection process, which is open to engineers from across Brazil. The most recent class was composed of 29% women, demonstrating the growing interest among women in the program.

Educational Structure
The first class was held on March 19, 2001, in São José dos Campos, São Paulo. The learning methodology of the Master’s degree includes, among other distinguishing features, the use of a “learn-by-doing” strategy, using prototyping to encourage teams to transform their ideas into tangible solutions for real-world challenges. These problems are analyzed and addressed throughout the development of a collaborative project. In the final phase of the program, participants must develop, as a team, a concept for an aeronautical product that meets the requirements of a proposed challenge, seeking a technically and economically viable solution.
In addition, the program reinforces the development of personal skills related to attitudes, behaviors, and emotional intelligence, which promote teamwork, flexibility, communication, leadership, empathy, and other emotional and behavioral abilities that are equally important in the workplace.
Each class receives, on average, more than 3,000 hours of theoretical and applied training under a full-time program. On average, the selection process receives about five thousand applications. The number of available openings varies according to the company’s future strategic needs. Each professional receives a starting monthly scholarship of BRL 5,000 (with a 20% increase after 12 months), along with medical assistance, meals, and other benefits.
